Thanks so much to Dave Thomas from USA Swimming for coming Friday October 28th to visit the team! Despite the competition with the fair, trunk-or-treat, High School Districts, and some high school football...we had a great turn out and really showed who we are as a team and learned A LOT! He met with Parents and gave a Parent Presentation, Material covered was Structure of USA Swimming, Benefits of swimming, parent skills, responsibilities to the team and their child, nutrition, supplements, Why kids swim, why they stay in it, Why kids quit, Child development primer and much More. He talked to athletes from about the 4 things you can do to be better (Attitude, Sleep, Nutrition and Hydration) Dave is the World Record holder in the 50 meter free over 50 and 300 lbs division! What an accomplishment! I can't wait for our race next visit! :)

Chaz and I were nominated for the "2011 Spirit of CIL Award" in Recognition for Outstanding Services and Commitment to People with Disabilities. What an honor! Thanks to Regina Williams for nominating us and to the Center for Independent Living Disability Resource Center for the Certificate of Appreciation!
